Hi, Welcome to HCM. I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Please check the 25 hydroxy vitamin D levels, Calcium, phosphorus before starting on higher dose of vitamin D.
What is the dose of vitamin D you are taking? Is it 2000 iu or 60,000 iu?
In vitamin D deficiency what we give is 60,000 iu every week for 8 weeks followed by monthly vitamin D. If there is no deficiency, monthly or once in 2 months vitamin D 60,000 iu is enough. Over dose can cause problems of increased calcium levels in blood.
Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help With warm regards, Dr Ajish TP (MD,DM) Consultant Endocrinologist.
