Can I Wait For Few Weeks Before Retesting Blood Sugar?

My blood sugar is 147 fasting in the morning. I have never been diagnosed with diabetes. I bought my own testing device. I am on a diet. I will lose 5% of my body weight in the next two weeks. Can I wait and retest myself in two weeks or do I need to see a doctor today? Thank you.

Hello,
A fasting level above 126 is suggestive of diabetes, however you should get a PP level also done to see the blood sugar response after meals.
If you want to try lifestyle changes and reduce weight, then you must try it and get blood sugar levels retested in 2 weeks time.If by exercises, dieting and reduction of weight, you can bring your blood sugar levels to normal, then nothing better than that.
There's no urgency to go to the doctor right now.
Thanks
