Can IUD Cause Excess Sleepiness?

My stepmother has alzhiemers and uterine cancer. recently she had a merina Iud put in . She had bleeding for 2-3 weeks but has now stopped. She is wanting to sleep all the time where she didn t prior to the Iud. Could the Iud be the cause of her sleeping all the time?
