Can IUI Be Done For A Herpes Patient?

Hi, I went under laparoscopy for ovarian drilling in may, the surgery was a success. I am diagnosed with pcod. In June I got herpes zoster, I got my period in july and consulted my doctor to start iui, I told her that I got herpes and she said that iui can t be done till next 3 months so she said that lets start the treatment in Nov. I am worried thinking it will delay pregnancy. Please provide your suggestion.

yes pregnancy should be delayed to prevent the risk of viral transmission during fertility treatment and to prevent the fetus from being infected. one of the complications of herpes in the fetus is CMV, neonatal death, mental retardation, hearing loss or even blindness.
