Hi. My husband has dementia, pretty severe now, and takes Excelon and Namenda. But he also has severe hip arthitis--too difficult to operate and rehabilitate at 83, with Alzheimers as well. Problem: he take Tylenol 3, which may not be helping--hard to tell. We are giving him ibuprofen alternating with the Tylenol to help. I think Naproxen might be better than ibuprofen (he goes to a great adult center, and naproxen would last longer. I think Ibuprfen and naproxen should never be mixed, correct? that smy first question. Would naproxen, then, be okay to take with tylenol? And how much? WE have a great doctor, but he is lately hard to reach, and our appt is not for another three weeks. He is otherwise very healthy, with some concerns about urinary retention (had prostate partial surgery in April). What is safe for him to take? Thanks so much Claire
