Can Implanon Be Effective Even After Its Expiry?

So I have the Implanon for 7 years and its my second one in the time frame. While I was on it I did not get my period and when i had the first one in i left it in for 4 years and had no problems. Now its my second time with it. I did have sex unprotective and now its two days and i basically have my period and it doesnt help that I have been the week before a little stressed and depressed. It has expired on 01/20/2015 and i just want to know what the effectiveness with it after it expires ?

Hi,

Implanon is ineffective after its expiry date so its better to keep track on its expiry and get it replaced before the expiry date. Even if you fail to replace it, you should start using some additional contraceptive to avoid any conception.
