Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been seeing a pain specialists for a 1-1/2 years and have had about 8 transforminal epidurals with decadron and kenalog....my questions is; trying to obtain a influenza injection and was told to check with my doctor as there could be serious side affects such as antiflactic (sp) shock, unable to breath. Can you enlighten me?
dear friend any foreign protein if injected in the body can initiate a antigen and antibody reaction. which can trigger an allergic reaction cascade which in turn can cause severe reaction in which the blood pressure would fall and breathing would become difficult, this severe and rapid form of allergic reaction is called anaphylactic shock.
but this could happen any way it has no relation to the pain treatment you are taking
