General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Viral illness or any physical illness, can cause a delay in the period to occur.

Medication can also have an effect on the menstrual cycle but this usually occurs with hormonal medication. Acne meds should not typically affect the period.

Other causes of delayed or irregular period are: (1)emotional illness or stress
(2) high levels of the prolactin hormone
(3)abnormal levels of the thyroid hormone
(4)polycystic ovarian syndrome
(5)inadequate diet or excess physical activity

I hope this helps
