Can Klebsiella Infection Be Cured Without Out IV Antibiotics?
Hi. I have three PI deficiencies. Selective IgA, specific Antibody, and CVID. I recently was dx d with a UTI. Two diff bacteria e-coli and Klebsiella both had over 100,000 organisms per ml in my culture. I was treated 10 days of keflex. 5 more days then switched to 10 days of levaquin. Still having pretty serious symptoms. Dropped off a new culture at my immunologist ofc yesterday. I am limited to certain antibiotics because of allergies or because of them trying not to over use any particular one. Can Klebsiella be cured w/ out IV antibiotics?

Hello,
You can go for a culture study and chose antibiotics according to the culture reports. Oral antibiotics like ciplox or cefuroxime may be effective against klebsiella.
