Hi my 5 month old baby is constipated, we took him to the pediatrician about 2 weeks ago and she suggested that we start him on solids to help relieve the problem this seems to make no difference I contacted her yesterday and informed her that he has not passed a stool since Saturday she prescribed Movicol and said that she will do x-rays on monday if he still hasnt had a bowel movement by then. He is formula fed only we are using Lactogen could this be causing his constipation?
Hello Welcome to Health Care Magic. Don't worry much. Stay calm. your baby is adjusting new type of food. so motions can be irregular and can vary in texture. exclusive breast feeding is necessary for child till six months which will boost his immunity. constipation is due to formula feed. at 5 months it will be better if you breast feed your child. after six months start alternate formula and breast feed. Hope this information helps you. Best wishes.
