Can Levetiracetam Be Discontinued Safely On Absence Of Seizures?

I have had one seizure one year after a stroke which effected my peripheral vision .Put on levetiracetam 1000 mg daily .After a further year neurologist suggested stopping the drug as I had no further se seizures.I decided to stop on the drug as I was concerned that the seizures might return.Due to no more seizures after a further year I want to come off the medication as I have had no further seizures. Please advise.Thank you.

anti epileptic drugs should be stopped if a pt is seizures free atleast for 2 years
after 2 year seizures free period every three months drug should be tappered and stop slowly over 1year

if seizures recurr after stopping the drugs then patient needs life long treatment
