Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Can Levocetirizine Or Montelukast Tablets Cause Numbness In Arms?
Am taking levocetirizine 5mg ev. day...and montelukast 10mg, ev. day...for the past 2-3 mos...experiencing strong numbness in hands and arms in the EARLY hours of the morning - some occasional mumbness during the day. Age 63, NON-diabetic, non-smoker, non-drinker. Only other prescription medication is Toprol, 50mg morning and evening to control heart rate. Could one or a combination of the above be causing my numbness?
I do not think it is any of these medications that is causing numbness in your hands or arms. You should have your neck spine evaluated to make sure it is normal. Quite often there is a disease of the bones and the discs of the neck spine which press or impinge nerves that can lead to numbness like what you are experiencing which should be evaluated.
