Can Lexapro Cause Lack Of Energy?

i have been on lexapro [ the generic. for over a year and dont have any energy and dont sleep good at night ,,but am not depressed...would this be causing my lack of energy ? I take alot of vitamins .... SHOULD i CHANGE TO CELEXA? myDAUGHTER CHANGED FROM LEXAPRO TO THIS AND SAID , SHE FEELS GOOD AND HAS LOTS OF ENERGY ....wHAT DO YOU THINKOF THIS ? Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries

I can understand your concern. Celexa is Citalopram and Lexapro is Escitalopram. Both are SSRI drugs and have almost safe efficacy and same side effect profile. But effectiveness in particular individual varies with type of SSRI used. You have persistent tiredness, lack of energy so in my opinion your symptoms are persisting. Consult your psychiatrist for some dose adjustments of Celexa if possible or ask to change the drug to some other antidepressant like Lexapro. Change of drugs should help you in these symptoms.

Apart from this take Omega-3-Fatty Acids and B12 supplements along with the medicines you are taking. These supplements will help in early recovery.
