Can Lipitor And Metoprolol Be Taken Together?

I have Lupus and I am being treated with LDN 4.5mg. I am also on Lipitor 20mg and Metoprolol Tar 25mg 2x a day. I was just put on Lasix 20 mg to start today and noticed it said could cause problems with Lupus. Do you know what I need to be careful of. Also not many people are familiar with LDN since I moved from FL. to WV. Is there any possible bad interactions that could happen with it? Thank you.

Hi,

The medications you currently take do not have any serious interactions. I am also not familiar with using low dose Naltrexone to treat lupus, but it should not have any interactions with your other medications.

As for the Lasix, it has been reported to activate or worsen lupus, but this is rare, and we normally don't worry about it when we are treating for lupus-related kidney disease. However, if you experience a flare after starting Lasix (worsened fatigue, joint pain, or rash), I would pay attention to that and recommend you tell your doctor. Switching to another diuretic such as Torsemide may be an option if that occurs.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
