Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Thanks for your response. I started taking Crestor and a blood pressure pill about 2 years ago. After less than a year I developed severe psoriasis outbreaks. A determatologist helped me and after about 5 months of methotrexate treatments he managed to get the psoriasis under control. A few months ago my doctor put me back on Crestor and the same blood pressure pills and within about 2 to 3 weeks the psoriasis flared up again. I don t know what to do; I discontinued taking the Crestor and the psoriasis is almost under control again. Today the doctor prescribed Lipitor. Should I take it? Researching it doesn t seem to really give me any answers. I should also mention that I did go through a stressful situation in May and June as we were evacuated from our home due to fires (Fort McMurray Wildfires - Alberta, Canada)
The flare of psoriasis was drug induced and that may be Crestor. I would recommend you to take Lipitor and most probably would not flare up the psoriasis.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
