Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am diabetic type 2 experiencing neuropathy in my feet and cramping. Am on Lipitor. Can Lipitor cause the cramping? And is there any cure/treatment for neuropathy reversal? I know i need to make serious lifestyle changes. Honestly haven t taken diabetes seriously as its a common word for me growing up.
It is common for diabetics to develop neuropathy if they do not control diabetes well.
Lipitor you take is another cause to leg cramps. I highly advise to discuss with your doctor to stop taking it for a couple of months and see the changes.
Next, it is also common for diabetics to have deficiencies in vitamins and minerals. This can be another cause to leg cramps especially when it comes to magnesium deficiency.
Hope it was of help!
