Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
It is 11:30pm and my BP is high, 184/100. I have been taking ziac aND lisinophril for years but over time pressure has increased and Dr added Norvasc to my meds after about 3 weeks started developing angiodema, red puffy eyes and face. Went back to Dr told to stop lisinophril and added losarton with a prescription of predispose to get rid of edema. After completing prednisone started getting edema again. I stopped all meds except ziac. Blood pressure rising, would it be helpful to start taking the lisinopril until I can get in to see my Dr on monday.
Angioedema is a well-known side effect of ace inhibitors (Lisinopril), so you must not start them again.
Blood pressure won't cause any big problems if raised for a few days until very high. Yes, you may safely take amlodipine, and hydrochlorothiazide for your BP.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Mahboob Ur Rahman , General & Family Physician
