Can Lorazepam And Cyclobenzaprine Be Taken Together?
Hi. I have lung cancer stage four. I have been taking lorazepam .5 mg tablets 4 times daily along with oxycodone 5mg tablets 4 times daily. And was recently prescribed Cyclobenzaprine 10 mg tablets 3 times daily. Is this safe? I am a female and weigh 170 pounds.
It is not advisable to take Cyclobenzaprine along with Lorazepam and Oxycodone. When taken together with Lorazepam and Oxycodone, Cyclobenzaprine may increase side effects such as dizziness, drowsiness, confusion, difficulty concentrating, impairment in thinking, judgement, and motor coordination.
Hence you should avoid taking these medications together. Also avoid activities requiring mental alertness such as driving if at you continue to take it. Consult your treating doctor for an alternate effective muscle relaxant instead of Cyclobenzaprine that can be taken along with the prescribed medications.
Hope this will solve your problem. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali
