Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am taking oxycodone hcl 5mg, for pain recovering from back surgery. Having an anxiety attack today, wondering if my rx for lorazepam tab 1 mg would react unfavorably with the other medication? Don t take the lorazepam very often and have only been taking the oxycodone since surgery on 6/6/17. Don t know if these two medications should be mixed. Any info would be helpful. Thank you -- Kathleen Mischley My e-mail address is YYYY@YYYY
After going through your query i understand your concern.
I would like to tell you that Oxycodon and Lorazepam both increases sedation and is advisable to be taken under supervision. Because co-administration of oxycodone with benozodiazepines may result in profound sedation, respiratory depression , coma & death.
It recommended for you to personally consult your treating physician for further management.
Hope to have been helpful
