Can Losartan Be Taken Instead Of Hydrochlorothiazide?
I just began using hydrochlorothiazide and noticed severe itching on the instep of my right foot. The doctor told me to stop using losartan potassium until I used this diuretic (sorry for the misspelling) for several days. I intend to discontinue using the hydrochlorothiazide and resume using the losartan potsium. Do you agree?

If you're allergic to hydrochlorothiazide then stop taking it.
Use alternate antihypertensive drug. Yes you can use Losartan drug but please Losartan may also cause allergic reactions, hypotension and drug induced cough.
Please consult your physician, he/she will examine and treat you with alternate drugs.
