Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Can Losartan Be Taken Instead Of Lisinopril Safely?
Currently on Lisinopril 10mg for BP asprin as anticoagulant (occasional A-Fib) (Pradaxa made me too sensitive to bruising) considering asking to change to Losarton my normal pulse is about 50 77 Year Male 178 lb 5 9 untreated BP 150/75 current reading 119/55 P 52
Generally we recommend patients to change Lisinopril with Losartan when Lisinopril is causing cough. You can safely switch from Lisinopril to Losartan but might not be needed if you do not have dry cough due to Lisinopril.
I hope this answers your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
