Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I just started taking Lyrica on yesterday the 22nd of August; I took one dose of it today and the Rx strength is 15mg I pill twice a day; I m at work and since toking this pill I have been feeling drowsy and feeling loaded and vey sleepy all morning and even up till now; could it be the Lyrica causing me to feel this way?
Lyrica (pregabalin) does cause drowsiness. It's a well known and very common side effect. It may occur in as many as 1 out of 4 patients taking it. Starting it at a low dose (like you did) may reduce the risk for side effects but many patients will still experience drowsiness or other side effects like dizziness, leg swelling, etc.
I hope I've answered your question. Please let me know if you need further assistance.
Kind Regards, Dr Panagiotis Zografakis Internal Medicine Specialist
