Hi, I m a physician in the Philippines. We have a 22/male with chronic kidney disease who developed MRSA bacteremia. Ongoing treatment with vancomycin, he developed left eye blurring of vision. Ophtha consult was done: highly considering cmv retinitis but our patient was negative for HIV. Is it possible that the MRSA bacteremia caused the retinitis?
His eye problem or visual problem should have been given. patient should be subjected to complete eye examination. which includes refraction, fundus examination, anterior chamber examination by slit lamp. side effect of vancomycin is also Tobe seen After these examination diagnosis can be done.
