Hi
Welcome to HCM.
Yes,
Meftal-P can be given to children with high grade fever but since he has been continuous
vomiting it will be difficult for you to administer the drug orally & there is every possibility that he may vomit the drug.
Beside if given properly it may irritate the lining of his stomach inducing more vomiting.
If fever is not responding to oral Crocin (
Paracetamol) suspension or recurs more frequently (less than 6 hours), you can given him Paracetamol suppository. The usual dose is 125-250 mg (1-2 suppositories) up to 4 times a day.
She should also be given plenty of oral fluids, fruit juices to correct and maintain the hydration.
Tepid sponging should be done to lower the raised body temperature.
Consult your
pediatrician for evaluation of the cough to rule out
respiratory tract infection and for proper treatment thereafter.
Hope I could answer your query.
A feed back is appreciated.
