Can Meftal-P Be Given To An Infant For Treatment Of Fever?
Hello, My child is 16 months old and last month he got febrile seizures. He had 102F temp at that time. Doc suggested Meftal-P 2.5 ml. I want to know - 1) Is it safe to give Meftal-P, are there any side effects? 2) Is there a way to prevent Febrile seizures? I was told to keep a check on my baby s temperature and give Meftal-P immediately to prevent Feb seizures. But what worries me as a mother who experienced this scary event all alone last time, without even knowing anything about it is that I get worried if my baby shows tantrum and cries loudly etc. I dont feel that crying loudly is normal anymore as I m scared when he cries and breathes differently because of the way he was affected that day. Please help me
Yes, your doctor prescribed good a correct. Need not wait for the temperature goes very high, as soon as you feel baby is febrile give this medication. It will prevent febrile fits.
