Can Melatonin Supplements Make Thyroid Over Active?
I have server insomina, my psych, Dr. told me to take melatonin at night. I also have hasimotot s disease. On the botttle it says do take take melatonin if you have a thyroid disorder? Should I take it anyway. I cannot go one more night without sleep

Melatonin can worsen hypothyroidism (low levels of thyroid hormones) in some person.
It would be best not to use this unless you have also spoken to your GP or endocrinologist about possible problems that may occur.
You may want to ask for another sleep aid
