Hello,

No please do not start taking Meprate before you exclude pregnancy by Home pregnancy test/ blood beta HCG test.

Meprate should not be taken if the pregnancy test is positive. The drug is harmful to the growing fetus (can lead to congenital anomalies in the fetus).

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
