Can Metformin, Berberine And Macrobid Be Taken Together?

My husband is a borderline diabetic he takes 1/2 tablet of metformin morning and night. Can he take this with the supplement Berberine Also, he recently was prescribed Macrobid for a urinary tract infection and I read that berberene should not be taken with a macrolide antibiotic. Is macrobit considred a macrolide antibiotic
