Can Metolazone Be Taken While Having Heart Disease?
I have a medication named Metolozone. I have heart failure and kidney problems right now and wonder if this medication is good for me or not My heart rate is not steady--high and low constantly. I have a pace maker. Yesterday my heart rate was 54. Is this medication good for me or not?
Metolozone is a diuretic, it helps your body clearing out the excessive water retention as the heart or kidneys are not working well. That's a good alternative for you.
If the heart rate is going high and low, then, you should get rechecked by your cardiologist. He/she will evaluate the status of the pacemaker. Plus, need to check blood electrolytes because related imbalances can cause changes in heart rates, especially when it comes to potassium levels.
Discuss this further with your caring doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Wish you fast recovery.
Regards,
