Can Metronidazole, Promethazine, Paracetamol And Zinc Sulphate Tablets Cause Mouth Ulcers In Infants?

My one year baby have loose motion with vomiting and fever 102 doctor he is given metronidazole syrup promethazine syrup paracitamol syrup and zink sulphate tablets(water soluble)
After 1 day of taking medicine his lips swelled and some ulcers in his mouth is developed
What should i do now

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain mouth ulcers along with swollen lips seems to be due to allergic reaction to any of the medication that your son is taking and seems to be most probably due to antibiotic Metronidazole..
I would suggest you to consult your treating Paediatrician and get him evaluated and he can be advised to take anti allergics and stoppage of medicine that is causing allergic reaction and changing with other medication can help..
As of now you can give him cool foods and ice lollies to relieve the irritation in mouth..
Do cool compresses over the lips to reduce swelling..
Continue giving tylenol to relieve pain..
You can also give him multivitamin syrup to relieve the ulcers faster..
