Can Metronidazole Be Taken For Abdominal Pain?

Hi I am a 39 yr old male. Last month i had a discomfort ( nagging discomfort)in the abdomen lower right part . also my stomach used to be bloated.It is like a pain on a wound.Went to the doctor and he prescribe metronidazole. The problem became fine after five days. After a month i had the same sypmtom. Unfortunately since the doctor is on vacation i could not meet him . Can i take the same medicine again. What could be the reason for this problem. thanks

Metronidazole is one of the best medicine ever I have seen.
It is an antiamoebic as well as antibiotics.
In you case as you mentioned that there was pain on the right lower abdomen, stomach bloated , and you were feeling pain as in wound.
For your information metroniazole , single handed acted for all these symptoms .
H.pylori, antiamoebiasis , anaerobic infections,post operative infection and prophylaxis .
So you can take if for another five days as advised your doctor on previous occasion .
Mild side effects are nausea, vomiting, abdominal discomfort and these side effects remains for 4-5 days .

Well come to HCM
If the symptoms are the same as it was before then it was not properly treated and in my opinion the condition can be treated with Tab Metronidazole 400 mg twice in day for five days, Tab Clinidium with Chlordiazepoxide three times in day, hope this information helps.
