Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I HAVE BEEN USING MICROGYNON BIRTHCONTROL PILLS 9 YEARS NOW I STOP 2 WEEKS NOW .I WANTED TO KNOW IF I DO GET PREGNANT NOW IF THAT WILL HAVE ANY SIDE EFFECTS ON MY BABY ? MEANING ANY ABNORMALTIES ETC ,HOW LONG SHOULD I TAKE BEFORE TRYING TO GET PRENANT?
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Taking birth control pills earlier as a contraceptive would not cause any side effects either on pregnancy or growth and development of baby after you have conceived. Your fertility could be regained anywhere between one month to three months time, after stopping the pills, provided your cycles are back to normal. In case you have some menstrual disturbances after stopping the birth control pills, you need to consult Gynecologist for its management accordingly. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
