Can Norethisterone Be Taken During Periods?

My doctor prescribed me Norethisterone tablets(1tablet three times daily) today as I am going on holiday on Wednesday but my period has started very lightly tonight. I have took the dose for today not sure wether to carry on. If I carry on will my period stop? Many thanks Laura

Hello dear
I understand your concern
Norethisterone is used to delay the period.
It should started 3 days before the expected period date to delay the period.
But once the period has been started it will not help to stop the further period.
Sorry to say but now norethisterone will not help to stop the period.
