Can Nortrel Be Taken As Emergency Contraceptive Pill?
I have heard that there are birth control pills one can take in place of emergency contraception plan b which is not available where I am living... What would an equivalent and effective dose be for Nortrel 1/35 or Necon 1/35 or Cyclafem 1/35? Thank you!
Two doses of 4 pills of one of the above brands can be taken 12 hours apart as a postcoital contraceptive pills within 72 hours following an unprotected sex.
Since these pills contain high amount of hormones which may cause nausea and vomiting that can be prevented by taking oral meclizine.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali
