Can OTC Medications Be Taken For Headaches While On Metformin?
hi my name is elaine and i m currently taking metformin and i was wondering if it was safe to take tums for heartburn but also, i do get bad sinus headaches occasionally could i take any over the counter medicine for this. Is it safe should i just avoid these completely?
Thank you for asking and I understand your concerns.
Regarding your question, it is safe to take some OTC medications. Tums does not have any known interacation with metformine, so it is safe. Also you can take paracetamol or ibuprofen for headache and/or fever. I recommend paracetamol rather than ibuprofen because of possible gastric events.
I hope my question was helpful. Feel free for additional questions. Best regards
