Can Omeprazole And Clindamycin Be Taken Together?

I am taking omeprazole because of a duodenal ulcer and a few small gastric ulcers caused by overuse of asprin. I have been taking it for a little over a month (doctor asks for three months on it) but I just got a severe tooth ache and my dentist has prescribed clindamycin. I am concerned about taking the two of them together.

Hi,
Welcome to Healthcaremagic.com.

I had gone through your question I can understand your concern about the drug interactions you feel.

As of now there is no serious interactions between the two drugs, you can take it without any problem.

But clindamycin can have some effect on your gastric ulcer. It is not usually recommend in light tooth infections there are many better antibiotics with less toxicity for dental infections like Amoxycilin clavulinic acid.

Hope your query is answered and revert back to us in case you feel further need.

Regards
Dr Muzaffer Hussain Parray.
