Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I would like to know can I use oralgel after my tooth extraction? I have been changing the gauze its still very bloody, and I feel the tightness and swelling. I will be able to gargle tomorrow but its annoying not to minimize the discomfort right now.
First of all you need not to change the gauze and it is advisable to remove the gauge after an hour of extraction. But in case if it still bleeds and if bleeding is too much then you should immediately consult your Dentist. However if bleeding is just a few drops then you need not to worry about it.. If there is pain then you can take anti inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen.. You can also apply Oragel over the gum to numb the area and reduce pain.. Do cool compresses over the cheek. Eat cool foods like Ice cream..
Hope this helps..
Regards..
