Can Oxycodone And Methadone Be Taken Together?
I have been taking pain medications for a number of years. Currently Methadone HCL 10mg tabs, 4 tablets 3 times a day and Oxycodone HCL 30mg tabs,1 tablet by mouth every 6 hours as needed for pain. My question is with my Methadone being long term released is it possible to get Oxycodone in Instant Relief? Currently both are generic with Mfg.: CARACO and MAYNE PHARMA the two my pharmacy fills from. If my Oxydone cannot fill using IR from generic can I ask them to fill using a non-generic Mfg.?

Hi,
Two opioids cannot be taken together as they may cause respiratory depression. You can take one-sixth of the dose of Oxycodone for breakthrough pain.
