Can Oxycodone Be Taken For Psoriatic Arthritis?

I recently stopped Oxycodone and switched to suboxone for psoriatic arthritis pain. I noticed that my psoriasis plaques are rapidly clearing up. My psoriasis was severe while I was on Oxycodone. Is this a common side effect? Or could it be some other reason why my skin condition is improving?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Oxycodone can be used to treat the pain caused by psoriatic arthritis.

Of course, we can try to treat the pain with anti inflammatory medications before using Oxycodone.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,

Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi
