Can Pantoprazole Be Taken For Treatment Of IBS?

I have IBS D. I have been taking Lansoprazole for years for acid reflux and it has worked well. Now my insurance dropped it from their formulary and my doctor wants me to try Pantoprazole. I read on-line it can cause severe diarrhea and you are not to take anti- diarrhea products. What should I do?

It is very very rare side effect of pantoprazole to cause diarrhea usually it is a very safe drug and people all around the world use it with quite much of safety and problem. I would suggest you to start using the drugs according to suggestion of your doctor this will help you regarding your symptoms. Even if you get the diarrhea it will get fine as soon as you stop the drug.
