Can Pause MF Be Taken To Reduce Heavy Menstrual Bleeding?
My wife is suffering irregular period. Her age is 43. Now for 4-5 days heavy bleeding going on with blood clot. Period is continuing since last 1 month but was under control. Not heavy bleeding but since last 4-5 days heavy bleeding started. Earlier in the month of May this year she faced similar problem and contacted doctor. Doctor had given Pause mf . Thereafter 4 months period was stopped. Now same problem started. Can she take pause mf to reduce heavy bleeding immediately. Doctor appointment is on Monday afternoon. For the time being and to stop heavy bleeding please advise.
Your symptoms could be due to adenomyosis, fibroid, endometriosis, pelvic inflammatory disorder, cervix/endometrium dysplasia, hormonal imbalance. I would suggest to consult gynecologist as early as possible and undergo vaginal examination, USG scan, ovarian follicle study, PAP smear to confirm cause.
Specific treatment will depend on cause. Progesterone pill/shot and pause MF will help to stop bleeding. If it will not responds then D & C is the treatment. Meanwhile take pauce MF for 3 days only. Maintain proper pelvic hygiene, eat healthy diet with with iron supplements, drink plenty of water.
Hope this may help you. Contact further if follow up needed.
Best regards, Dr. Sagar
