Can Ponstan Be Given To An Infant For Recurring Fever?
My 11 month old baby keeps running a fever of 40 every day at random times. Have given her Calpol and Neurofen alternatively. Blood tests show slight infection but Dr not prescribed antibiotics as she has been on three different antibiotics the last two months since starting at creche. Is it safe to give her Ponstan instead now when she starts a fever

Can Ponstan Be Given To An Infant For Recurring Fever?
Hello, In my daily practice, I recommend treating fever by alternating Calpol and Nurofen. Ponstan Syrup can be used to treat fever but I would prefer the first alternative. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
