Can Porcine In Capsule Avicel Cause Consistent Productive Cough?

I have a productive cough that has lasted for 4 years, and my doctors cannot find any reason for it. I have been taking compound Thyroid USP Powder (Porcine) in a capsule Microcrystalline cellulose NF (Avicel) for 15 years and I am wondering if this could be causing my cough.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

IF you are reacting to this agent then it is possible that it may be causing the cough.
A reaction can occur to any traditional or herbal medication.

The most common reasons for persistent coughing are:(1)post nasal drip- this is the most common cause.
Some persons may have a silent drip and only present with the cough

It is treated with topical steroid nasal sprays and anti histamines

(2)GERD- this is also a cause of persistent coughing
Again persons may be unaware of the reflux

(3)Asthma

Since post nasal drip is most common, you may want to consider initiating treatment.

I hope this helps
