Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Can Pravastatin Cause Charcot Foot In A Diabetic, Resulting In Foot Pain?
Yes please, I started taking pravastatin 40 mg last Wed night as requested by my Doctor because of high Colesterol. The Ned causes severe pain when I take it. Two days later I have had a bad return of diabetic foot Charcot with swelling, warmth, redness and pain in the foot. I have tried to stay off the foot and rest. Is this caused from taking the pravastatin?
I don't think that Pravastatin is responsible for this condition. I recommend you to do a X-ray of your foot to see if everything is ok with your bones. Meanwhile do not force your foot.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Anila Skenderi,
