Can Prednisone Prescribed For Severe Cough Be Delayed By A Few Hours?

I m coughing badly and have a Rx of prednisone given by my physician for a trip I went in last summer. I tend to get bronchitis. I haven t used it. ll call her in morning but would it be wise to start before bed or just wait. Usually I take I ever before breakfast...etc.... This cough is getting to me. Thank you.

I carefully read your question and understand your concern.
Prednisone is a medication that the daily dose can be divided in 2 doses, (which is morning and evening) or all the daily dose can be given as a single dose.
Both ways of taking it are medically correct.
Normally prednisone is also produced in our body and mostly in the mornings, that is why we prefer to give it in the morning, so we can imitate a normal cycle of producing it.
Medically it is not important if you use it in the morning or in the evening- it will do the effect the same.
Actually prednisone takes its own time to work so if you delay the time of taking it, you will delay the time you get the effect also. So I would recommend you to take it as soon as possible if you would like to have the effect soon.
