I have been diagnosed with osteoporosis. My doctor wanted me to take prolia. I declined - having taught anatomy and physiology for 20 years, I m familiar with monoclonal antibodies. As wonderful as they are, I don t want to take one that monkeys with my T cells or B cells. That said, I know a little bit of knowledge is sometimes a dangerous thing. I m a 68 year old white female, small frame, family history of osteoporosis, took fosimax for about 5 years completing that series about 10 years ago. Bone density in spine is -1.5, in left hip is -2.5. I exercise regularly and have increased that. Any thoughts ?
