Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..
As per your complain prozac contains active ingredient
Fluoxetine and is an antidepressant drug..
It does not seems to cause mouth ulcers directly but is seen to cause
dry mouth that can in turn cause mouth ulcers as dry mouth can cause dry and irritated mucosa inside mouth and it can cause ulcer eruptions..
Stress and deficiency of Vitamin B 12 is also a common cause of mouth ulcers..
I would suggest you to continue giving him multivitamins as well as gargle with a numbing mouthwash to relieve pain..
Take a
soft diet and avoid spicy and sour foods..
In case if the symptoms does not improve you can consult an Oral physician and get him evaluated who can also look for other causes of ulcers like
herpes and
Pemphigus and in case if Prozac is found the culprit consult your treating Physician and he can reduce the dose for relief..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.
