Can Quadtab Be Used To Cure Recurrence Of Water In The Lungs?
Hello doc! I recently had thoracentesis done last 3/29 since I have water in my lungs, my doctor took out 500cc of water. she then prescribed me an antibiotic for pneumonia but after my follow-up check-up yesterday (after going thru another chest xray) my doctor figured that the water recurrred and i was then prescribed Quadtab (for antituberculosis) with a dosage of 3 tablets before breakfast. will this medication take the water out of my (right) lung? Thanks!
Water in lungs can be caused by many conditions like tuberculosis, pneumonia, pancreatitis, other systemic disease. U get your fluid examined for TLC,DLC,sugar, proteins, chlorides and Adenosine deaminase. If fluid is due to tuberculosis, it will cause raised TLC,DLC will show lymphocytosis, exudate type of fluid and raised adenosine deaminase, and a positive mantaux test. If this water is due to tuberculosi, this drug will definately helpful and absorb water from lungs.
