Can Ranexa Be Discontinued If Symptoms Are Relieved?

my husband was admitted with chest pain and kept in hosp for a week, initially the docs thought he may have had a heart attack, but turned out he didn't and they couldn't find anything significant, however, they still prescribed Ranexa and blood pressure meds etc. He does not want to continue taking them as he can't understand if all the tests were ok why does he need them,he has started a diet and has lost a stone since January and feels good.He has an appt in April at the hosp, is it possible that they will take him off the meds?
