Can Ranitidine Be Taken For A Long Duration?

I take 150 mg but usually only take one half pill at night. I took Nexium for several yrs. and liked it best until until the news came out how Nuxium could cause worse problems. Will I have to stay on Ranitidine for all my life? or will heart burn ever get any better? Also, what are side effects of it?

Hi,

Some of the common side effects of Ranitindine can be:

- Constipation, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, or stomach pain.
- Headache.
- Insomnia.

Swollen or tender breasts. You have to use it as long as you will have heartburn.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
